About Mitchell's Ice Cream

Ben Scoops proudly and exclusively serves Mitchell's Ice Cream. Mitchell's Ice Cream of San Francisco opened for business in the summer of 1953 and has grown to be a treasured San Francisco landmark since. It continues to be owned and operated by the Mitchell family, and their ice cream is still made fresh in the shop every day, using 16% butterfat along with the finest ingredients from local sources, across the country, and around the world. In the early 1960s, they were the first to introduce mango ice cream to the Bay Area. It was the flavor that put Mitchell's on the map and remains their best seller to this day. As their neighborhood became more diverse, they continued to introduce tropical flavors, importing a variety of exotic fruit from the Philippines. Mitchell's Ice Cream has won multiple awards throughout the years and has consistently been ranked on TripAdvisor as the #1 dessert in San Franciso.

The flavors we serve in our store vary from time to time and depend on seasonality and availability. We sell our ice cream by the scoop or in pint, quart, and gallon sizes. We accept large orders by quarts.
